You ask yourself what you are gonna wear tomorrow or to the next party and you have hundreds of magazines and bloggers advising you and thousands of people out there on the streets tempting you with answers!
Yet the result is always the same, it was not quite what you wanted!

Trends are one of the things I love the most, but, they are not ment to tell you what to wear! They are there to offer inspiration! And if you like it, why not ad those parts and make them fit into what you already have in your closet?

Being a trend slave and follow every trend is like, quoting my mentor Jeanette, drinking from a fire host. You will have a new full time job keeping track on every trend popping up. You would have to read every fashion magazine and be shopping all day long every day for things you will only be able to wear for a few weeks.
Sounds glamorous? Well in the end you would still be everything but trendy since it is all about personal style today! Touche!

Today the sellers working in our clothing stores almost have monopoly on advising you on what to buy. This is a dangerous thing! They are trained, if not educated, on advising you to buy the latest hottest garment. They are a product of todays consumption soceity, if you always buy the latest thing, you will soon have to be back to buy the new latest thing! Spending more money .

The weirdest thing is that it is acctually compleatly out of fashion! Today the hottest trend is really to think about consumption and quality, yet we produce more clothes then ever, and the quality has never been as bad!

This is why we need personal shoppers and educated stylists out there to help people to shop smarter and better! If you think about it, the good advisers are the ones you keep listening to and the stores where you bought the best clothes at is the ones you would rather go back to. Right?

Personally I love when I complement someones outfit and get the answer,
-Well I just put somethings togheter.
Reather then,
-I run by this store on my way and bought the whole outfit!
Does it turn anyone on?! Today we should know better then that!

I would recomend you to put all trends a side for a sec and think about you! You and your style. Just ask yourself who you are and what you want to show the world. What colors do like (and which colors likes you), which cutting suits you? Which differnt types of clothes do you like and which brands would you prefer to wear? How does different garments and styles perceive you?..

Find a style icon or became your own one!
Make a list of how you want to look and what you want to wear. By always having that list in the back of your mind you can never get lost! Even when you see something looking reeeeeeeally good on someone else you will know that that person is not you, that super hot red shirt would make you feel like a clown and when you are seeing that super cute something hanging in a store you will remeber that you really dont even wanna look super cute!

Then by getting your closet under controll and only having things that fits your style you will easily know what you need to buy and then, not buying as much, you will have more money to buy things with better quality that will last longer. Then you will be on your way of building a wardrobe that will grow slowely instead of having clothes constantly being replaced.

And now you can easely get inspired by every beautiful thing out there without ever get lost again! Doesn´t it sounds amazing?!
